BAM Nuttall, Senior Planning Engineer Saif said:

'It was really inspiring seeing so many young people keen to get involved in sport and their enthusiasm. It was truly a demonstration to me that sport really is for everyone.'

The Challenge

BAM Nuttall is committed to delivering a series of community benefits as part as its contract to construct the Cross Tay link for Perth & Kinross Council. They want to create local volunteering opportunities for staff working on the project which forms part of these benefits.

The Activity

More than 200 young para athletes and supporters joined Perth Strathtay Harriers in a fun day to raise awareness of opportunities for people of all abilities to get involved in sport.

Organised by the Harriers in conjunction with Perth and Kinross Disability Sport, the event was supported by Cross Tay Link Road main contractor BAM Nuttall.

Open to young people aged five years to senior with physical, sensory or learning disabilities and related conditions, events included wheelchair racing and frame running along with a range of distance races on the track.

The Result

Saif gave up his day to help out at the event and BAM also donated a selection of prizes for fundraising raffle
